About the series

A well is not a spring. A spring rises on its own; a well has to be dug, and dug in the one place where water is actually to be found. That is what these studies try to do with Scripture — pick a passage, and go down.

Every study is built the same way: a passage at the top, a path down through it, and the original-language words linked live so you can check the work yourself. Nothing is quoted from memory.

The studies are not a sequence. Take whichever one meets the season you are in.

How to use them

  • A daily one-page devotional, at whatever depth you have time for that morning.
  • A group curriculum — the day pages work read-aloud.
  • Come and go freely. No login, no account, no progress to lose.
  • Revisit any day, any time.

Feel free to share a direct link to any study — for example, drgaryboyd.com/wells — with your group.

Looking for the systematic series instead? The Seven Pillars is seven studies covering the full arc of the Christian life.
